What to do in Singapore

What is the first thing in your mind when going to a vacation?  Is it to soak in the culture of the place?  To try out their exotic taste?  To visit theme parks?  To spend a bucketful of moolah for shopping?  Or just plain relaxation.  Well here is some of the things your could do in Singapore:

1.  Shop! Shop! Shop!

If you have been frugal the entire year, make the ties lose on May until July every year when the Great Singapore Sale will surely blow you away with big big discoutnts.  Most of the shops I frequent are as follows:

    -  Takashimaya Mall in Orchard,
    -  Tampines Mall
    -  Sengkang Mall
    -  Bugis Junction
    -  Singapore Expo
    -  Funan Mall
    -  Sim Lim Square
    -  Mustafa Mall

2.  Slurp! Smack! Burp!

Everywhere in Singapore offers good eats.  Try to hit the kopitiams everywhere, all kinds of noodle are available.  Also, don't forget to try the desserts.

3.  Whoa! Wow! Yey!

Sentosa will always be the place for the entire family as well as Universal Studios.  Don't miss the songs of the sea and the cable ride from Harbourefont to Sentosa Island.  Perfect picture for your profile pic.

4.  Click! Click! Click!

Roam around the city and you'll enjoy simply the culture and the people in this country.  Do the tourist-y things like visiting this spots:

   -  Marina Bay Sands
   -  Merlion
   -  Esplanade
   -  Clarke Quay (reverse bungee)
   -  Singapore Flyer
   -  Singapore Zoo/  Night Safari

Tip of advice... try everything!  I guarantee you you'll never regret it.

Singapore Quick Info

Singapore is one of the most exciting cities I have ever been to.  And until now, I still can't get enough of it.  The sights, the sounds, the food and the beat of the city is simply addictive.  Here are some quick facts of Singapore.

- Since I came from the Philippines, I'll be basing the travel time from my country: Singapore is a 2 hours and 45 minutes plane ride from Manila Philippines.

-  If you are a Filipino (again!) you don't need a visa to visit the country.  You are allowed to stay upto 30 days.  If you are job hunting, when your 30 days are up you can try and have it extended for another 30 days.

- Language is mix of Chinese, Malay and English, so getting directions is not a big problem.

- A DIY vacation in the city is pretty easy because the city is equipped with a comprehensive transportation and signages that could direct you wherever you need to go.

- Singapore is just 6 hours bus ride to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.  Or a 5 minute bus to Johor Bahru, Malaysia.

-  The Great Singapore Sale starts on middle of May and ends on June every year.
